Meet Virginia W. She is 10 years old. Her mother lived a life of prostitution as a source of income in order to provide. One day, Virginia’s mother just left and was nowhere to be found. A man broke into the house and assaulted Virginia since there wasn’t anyone there to protect her. Neighbors rescued her. They took her to the hospital and reported the case to the police. The man was arrested along with Virginia’s mother. Virginia was referred to Goal Rescue Center. Virginia stayed at this center for one year and later on was referred to Shelter Children’s Home for more care and protection. She had never been taken to school before, but has caught up quickly. She’s comfortable in the home and interacts closely with other children. She’s very playful and sweet. She would like to become a doctor when she grows up.
There are others that aren’t sponsored at this orphanage. Unless they are sponsored there isn’t enough support to send them to school. They are provided the basics, a place to sleep and food to eat.
